Corfu Walking Tours booking-confidence audit.

Five public website answers that can change whether a guest books, contacts the team, or arrives correctly—converted into a prioritized fix package for an owner, website editor, or coding agent.

Independent sample

This non-commissioned sample uses only public pages. Business impact is a reasoned buyer-journey assessment, not a claim of measured lost revenue. The operator can use every recommended correction whether or not it buys an audit.

Executive read

The tours are appealing. Five booking facts still have more than one answer.

The highest-value work is not a redesign. It is making refund timing, child pricing, pickup, group size, and meeting point resolve to one unambiguous fact per tour. These are the questions a guest asks immediately before paying or travelling.

The cancellation policy leaves days four through six undefined

Customer decision: Can a guest cancel without losing the booking value?

General FAQ
The public FAQ gives a full refund at seven days or more, a 50% fee within one to three days, and no refund within 24 hours. It does not say what happens four to six days before the tour.

Coach-tour page
The tour page repeats the seven-day full-refund rule, then jumps to the 72-to-24-hour window. The same four-to-six-day gap remains.

Why it matters
  • A cautious guest cannot calculate the financial risk of booking during a common cancellation window.
  • Staff may answer the same request differently because the public rule does not cover it.
  • Search and AI answers may invent a bridge between the two published time bands.
Recommended change

Choose one rule for four to six days, add it to the canonical cancellation policy, and repeat the same time bands on every tour page. Use exact hours or full calendar days consistently.

Acceptance checks
  • Every moment before departure belongs to exactly one refund band.
  • The general FAQ and tour pages use identical time boundaries and refund language.
  • Third-party transport charges are either defined for every applicable tour or removed from the general rule.

The coach tour gives two child-age rules and two child discounts

Customer decision: What will a family actually pay before it enters checkout?

Effort
Low · 30 min
Owner
Operations / booking manager
Public evidence

Coach booking area
The booking area says infants are age 0–4 and children age 5–11 receive €20 off the adult price.

Coach price details
The same page later says infants are age 0–5, adults are €190, and children are €150—a €40 difference rather than €20.

Why it matters
  • A family with a five-year-old cannot tell whether that child is free or charged the child price.
  • A parent may expect €170 from the ‘€20 off’ rule and see €150 elsewhere, making either the page or checkout look wrong.
  • Pre-booking questions consume staff time even though the website appears to answer them.
Recommended change

Store infant ages, child ages, and the final child price as tour-level facts. Display the exact amount beside the selector and reuse it in the detailed price block.

Acceptance checks
  • The age of five belongs to one category only.
  • The displayed child price equals the amount charged in checkout.
  • The page does not mix a fixed discount with a different final price.

The site-wide pickup answer hides a valuable tour-specific inclusion

Customer decision: Will the operator collect a guest from a hotel or cruise port?

Effort
Low · 20 min
Owner
Website editor
Public evidence

General FAQ
The FAQ says there is no hotel or port pickup, although a private transfer may be arranged.

Coach tour
The private coach tour lists port/hotel pickup and drop-off as included and says a minivan will collect the guest.

Why it matters
  • A cruise or hotel guest may reject the company after reading the generic FAQ without reaching the applicable tour page.
  • AI assistants can repeat ‘no pickup’ for a tour whose price already includes pickup.
  • The included transport is a sales advantage, but the site-wide answer suppresses it.
Recommended change

Rewrite the general answer as a rule plus exception: walking and food tours use a central meeting point; selected private coach tours include port/hotel pickup. Link directly to those tours.

Acceptance checks
  • The general FAQ explicitly names the pickup exception.
  • Every tour exposes a structured Pickup field with Included, Optional, or Not available.
  • The booking confirmation repeats the same pickup status and location.

The food tour promises both a maximum of eight and up to ten guests

Customer decision: Is this the small-group experience the guest is comparing?

Effort
Low · 20 min
Owner
Operations / website editor
Public evidence

Food-tour summary
The tour heading describes the food tour as ‘up to 8ppl.’

Food-tour group section
The same page later says small groups of ‘up to 8–10 participants’ are guaranteed.

Why it matters
  • Group size is part of the product, not a cosmetic detail, especially for a premium food experience.
  • A buyer comparing an eight-person tour with a ten-person alternative cannot make an accurate comparison.
  • The phrase ‘up to 8–10’ is not a single maximum and is difficult for search systems to interpret.
Recommended change

Publish one numeric maximum for the standard food tour. If private groups can reach ten, label that as a separate configuration rather than a range.

Acceptance checks
  • The summary, booking selector, details, FAQ, and structured data show one standard maximum.
  • Any private-group exception has its own label and booking condition.
  • The final confirmation states the booked format and maximum group size.

The coach tour shows two different meeting arrangements

Customer decision: Where must the guest be at the start of the tour?

Effort
Low · 20–30 min
Owner
Operations / website editor
Public evidence

Coach-tour summary
The summary states ‘port/hotel’ at 10:00 and the inclusions promise port/hotel pickup and drop-off.

Coach-tour meeting-point block
Lower on the same page, the meeting point is the Statue of Schulenburg in front of the Old Fortress at 10:00.

Why it matters
  • A paid guest can wait at the wrong place even after rereading the official page.
  • Staff must manually correct an ambiguity that should be resolved before payment.
  • Wrong meeting-point answers can cause late arrivals, refund disputes, and negative reviews.
Recommended change

Replace the generic meeting-point block with a conditional field: pickup address confirmed after booking, or central meeting point if pickup was not selected. Repeat it in checkout and confirmation email.

Acceptance checks
  • A guest sees one applicable start location before paying.
  • The confirmation email contains the same location or a clear pending-pickup status.
  • Map coordinates appear only when the central meeting point applies.

Paste-ready asset · pickup FAQ

Turn a blanket “no” into a useful booking answer.

This copy keeps the general rule while surfacing the private-tour exception that can win a hotel or cruise guest.

Do you offer port or hotel pickup?

Walking and food tours begin at our central Corfu Old Town meeting point and do not include pickup.

Selected private island tours include port or hotel pickup and drop-off. Check the “Included” section on the tour page, or contact us with your accommodation or ship details before booking.

Your confirmed pickup address or meeting point will be repeated in your booking confirmation.

Implementation order.

First 30 minutes

Confirm the missing four-to-six-day refund rule and the coach child price/age bands.

Two internal decisions unblock all copy changes.

Same day

Update the FAQ and the coach/food tour fact blocks from one approved table.

Guests receive one answer before checkout.

Same release

Carry pickup, meeting point, age band, and group size into booking confirmations.

The promise survives the handoff from website to operations.

After publishing

Recheck the five buyer questions in search and AI answer tools.

Old or conflicting answers can be identified and corrected.

Website maintainer / coding-agent handoff

This can become the implementation brief.

The owner confirms two business rules; a maintainer can complete the remaining work without interpreting the audit.

Goal:
Make Corfu Walking Tours' refund, child-price, pickup, capacity, and meeting-point answers consistent across the FAQ, tour pages, booking UI, and confirmations.

Inputs:
- Tasks CWT-01 through CWT-05 in this report
- /faq/
- /tour/memorable-half-day-island-private-tour-by-coach/
- /tour/corfu-food-tour/

Before editing, confirm with the business owner:
1. Refund outcome for cancellations 4–6 days before departure.
2. Coach-tour infant age band and exact child price.

Implementation requirements:
1. Create one structured fact object per tour for refund rule, ages, prices, pickup, meeting point, and maximum group size.
2. Render summary, details, FAQ, booking UI, and confirmation text from those facts.
3. Preserve tour-specific exceptions instead of applying a site-wide blanket answer.
4. Do not change prices or policy without owner approval.

Done means:
- All five acceptance-check lists pass.
- No customer question in the recheck section returns two different official answers.
- The maintainer lists the pages changed and the verified result for each task.

Included post-fix recheck

Five questions must return one answer.

The paid audit checks these questions across the updated website and three major AI answer engines after publication.

  1. What refund applies if I cancel five days before the tour?
  2. Is a five-year-old free on the private coach tour, and what is the exact child price?
  3. Does the private coach tour include pickup from my hotel or cruise port?
  4. What is the maximum number of guests on the standard food tour?
  5. Where exactly do I meet the private coach tour if pickup is included?

What the fee buys

A second pair of eyes that leaves executable work.

A business owner or general AI tool can spot individual sentences. The audit’s value is checking the whole buyer journey, separating real booking risk from cosmetic noise, and packaging the fixes so an owner, web agency, or coding agent can implement and verify them.
